MDCAT AGGREGATE 93.5% UHS RANK 182 (BUSHRA-2023)

STORY

AGGREGATE: 93.3% (UHS)

Hey Bushra here. I’ve got 1048 in matric, 1053 in fsc, 169 in mcat in first attempt(2022) and 182 in second attempt(2023). Back in 2022, my aggregate was 90.06 but unfortunately couldn’t make it to any medical college. I was much dishearted at that time but gathered the courage to take a gap year. I started my prep again in January but i couldn’t focus. I felt like i had already given my 100 percent efforts. What even more can i do? So the first thing i did was to accept that FAILURE and those mistakes i made. It was hard to accept but had to accept the reality and move on. I compared myself to those who got admission. You know there’s always some points you’re lacking and you have to find them in order to succeed. I wrote down all my shortcomings and kept reading them daily. I started with one chapter a day. I practiced from every single source whether from online academies or physical. I joined every possible platform to make the most of my prep.

I practised from Dr aqib notes, most repeated mcqs, kips, stars, step, grip, era (all available in paid drive) . I did federal and ptb thoroughly but i had already made short notes of Balochistan and kpk textbooks. So i just had to revise them. I used to revise a chapter first from all my notes, textbooks, and shortlistings from Dr aqib’s paid drive, and then do its practice. I revised everything almost 10 to 11 times. I solved as much flps i could of every academy. I practiced mcqs on bubble sheet and it helped a lot i was able to handle exam anxiety which is a big factor. I used to get 180 plus marks in every flp. To be in the top 1 percent of all aspirants, I noted what others are not doing in their prep and did that.Record for reference from Dr Aqib Test series

For example most of the students ignore vocab but i did 700 words each with synonyms. I even got an idea of neet level mcqs by toppr (also given in paid drive). I read my Mcat paper 2022 time to time to figure out which type of mcqs i couldn’t attempt and why. Was it due to lack of revision, knowledge, or concept? My study hrs fluctuated.

Some days i studied 5hrs some days 9 hrs. I took off days whenever i felt tired. One thing no academy will tell you is that Mcat WILL NOT just come from your board book no matter you’re appearing in uhs, szabmu or others. This is a very big misconception. It’s a competitive exam not a board paper. You have to do everything. Trust me. Some people might say that i did too much but honestly I’m a believer of hardwork more than smartwork. Plus Mcat is more about self confidence and self control since those 3. 5 hrs decide your fate. Mcat is NOT all about luck. Your hard work, your duas, your belief in yourself and trust In Allah will overcome any kind of bad luck. I built confidence to the point that i was 101 percent sure K mera admission hona hai aur top medical college mein hi hona hai. This confidence came from studying day and night and from doing my 100 percent efforts and obviously having strong faith in prayers. I had no backup plan. I manifested this success. Gap year was not easy

at all. There were days of depression, anxiety, self doubt, lack of motivation but I’m so glad i survived and i didn’t give up. The happiness that comes from getting something you worked hard for is something else. That feeling when your parents are proud and happy for you can’t be described. A dream turned reality. A destination reached. This is just the first step towards the bigger goals InshaAllah. Remember me in your duas.
